New old stuff?

Different front, rear wings and endplates for EJ12. I've also started mapping that one. In between I managed to model one of my all time favourite F1 cars Arrows A23 also from 2002.
Looks neat in my opinion. Plenty left to doo and side pods were hell to make right.

Back to 2002

I’ve had this one laying on my hard drive for some time, recently I finished modelling and I am in mapping process right now. It is rich with polys, I haven’t really been holding back as I usually do.
I plan to make engine cover winglet, that curvy front wing and maybe low down force rear wing, side pod chimneys are removable (though I’m not sure that version was ever used). I’m also going to make 3D body lines, but I’ll make one regular version to  just in case.

Finally some art


Even though it stands in description that this is art blog i haven’t really been posting any art yet. Until now that is! :-)

Here are my Muse Christmas competition entries. Please have in mind that since I updated hardware I haven't been able to use either my scanner nor min drawing tablet, so these images were translated through digital camera an painted using standard PC mouse.

P.S. I wrote to Santa to send me a new drawing tablet. ;-)

Some F1 stuff again

Rear suspensions are done! I even figured out how the rear brake duct looks like. I saw that they were missing on converted “f1 2011” cars. Wonder if they are there in original game or did Codemasters just didn't bother to put them there.

Long gone…


Hi, Some of you might noticed I haven’t been updating blog to often lately.

How long has it been, I don’t dare to look.

I made some changes to Ferrari F150 launch version, turned it to Australian version.

Apparently I’m into weird prototype cars. This one I started some month ago and it had been laying on ice until few days back. Now I cant stop working on it. It is hard to model as it looks, yet I would recommend it to any fellow modeller. I’m now up on 9600 polys. and there is a lot of work to be done. I would love to have it in GP4 but we’ll see how that works outFurai_wip1 Furai_wip2 Furai_wip3 Furai_wip4
Then there is this one. I wondered how awesome would be if other F1 teams would follow red bull’s X1 footsteps and build their own prototype cars. What would Ferrari prototype look like? Ok, this is what I came up with.
Working title FX1 :-) Inspired by (obviously) X1 but also FXX and Ferrari 640 from 89th.
Who knows I might do Mercedes to after this one.

R31 progress

When I first saw this car at launch in early Februari I thought I am not gonna make this one for GP4. Its black which means it’s hard to spot details and It looks aren't that appealing. What changed my mind? I don’t know but until recently I was still disliking it looks. But I continued working on it an I must say I like it a bit more now with some details in place.R31_wip02 R31_wip03

Its just under 17000 polys. Cockpit and rear suspensions are yet to be done.

BBC wheels

Long time since last update here. I have been busy, unfortunately not with gp4 stuff. Hence I don't have much new stuff to show. But I reworked my old 2010 tyres and, also made BBS rims to fit with new Ferrari.
I have Red bull, McLaren and Mercedes 3D rims finished hopefully I can copy and paste them into BBS wheels to make variety of 3d wheels.

Two cars are uvMapped now. Mercedes and Ferrari I couldn’t resist starting painting this one.

Toro Rosso, Hispania Racing and some details.

Finally I got some time to update this blog.
I have been mostly mapping some cars lately, not much to show therefore.
But I forgot to post some STR6 progress shots, so here they are.
I couldn’t resist making new Hispania Racing car the F111. I started modeling two days ago this is what I managed so far. I used my STR4 car as a base, everything behind upper airbox is scratch made though.
I thought this years McLaren is weirdest looking car. This one looks like it’s been in bee hive. You don’t get to see it because of checker flag livery on it.
luckily I found two images with nearly no paint on it, otherwise it would be hard to spot all those curves :-)
Well I care about details and at the same time try to keep poly count as low as possible, here are some of details I managed to create on these cars.
